RIVERVIEW LIVING, CLOSE TO EVERYTHING
Nestled along the towering trees of Fort Bennett Park, the Palisades Park community is an oasis tucked into a quiet corner of Rosslyn, VA overlooking the Potomac. Many homes feature river views, just steps from everything. Key Bridge, Georgetown, National Airport, The Kennedy Center, and all the attractions of downtown are minutes away by bike, auto, and Metro. The Rosslyn Metro station is a few blocks across Gateway Park while the many shops and eateries of Courthouse and Clarendon are a short walk. Despite being convenient to everything, this neighborhood maintains a suburban, park-like feel.
PARK SETTING
Situated on the bluffs between Lee Highway and the George Washington Parkway, the community is bounded on three sides by parks or conservation areas – Fort Bennett Park and the Potomac river to the north, the Custis Bike Trail and nature conservation area to the south, and US Park Service land to the east.
HIGH TECH INFRASTRUCTURE
For years, our community has invested in our infrastructure to support a high quality of life for our residents and their guests. We have invested in state-of-the-art irrigation systems for nearly all our common areas to keep our community looking beautiful. Our landscape lighting was upgraded to LED for energy and maintenance savings. All of our old wood utility boxes were replaced with long-lasting composite materials to save on maintenance and replacement costs. Most homes feature access to high-speed fiber optic internet connections.
GOVERNANCE
The property is managed by Jeffrey Charles and Associates of Alexandria, VA. Our Board of Directors oversees the architectural and maintenance covenants, grounds maintenance, budgeting and finance, and an annual list of projects. The Association's various committees support the Board by performing a wide variety of tasks such as formulating our architectural standards and organizing community social events. Still others work with Arlington County government agencies on stormwater management, parks, and natural resources, removal of invasive species, and local development projects.
ARCHITECTURE
Built in the mid-1990s by Eakin-Youngentob, Palisades Park features four all-brick models (Taylor, Mason, Lee, and Jackson) ranging in size from 2,200 to 2,900 square feet. Most homes have large decks or patios, some with breathtaking views of the Potomac River and Bennett Park. All models have three bedrooms and three or more bathrooms. See Floorplans for drawings of each model.
The Lee model offers a one-car garage with the entrance at street level while the Mason offers a lower level two car garage in the rear with the main entrance on the front at street level. The master bedroom in the Mason model is slightly larger but the Lee model offers two walk-in closets. The master bedroom ceilings in both models are vaulted or cathedral.
The Jackson and the Taylor models are the largest and both offer a two-car garage. The entrance for the Taylor model is at street level while the entrance for the Jackson is up a dramatic exterior brick staircase on the main level. These are very spacious models with high ceilings, some up to 14 feet. Master bedrooms feature cathedral ceilings and large walk-in closets.
SCHOOLS
Schools in the area include Taylor Elementary School, Williamsburg Middle School, and Yorktown High School.
